U2 Fan(atic)

Who is that guy to the lower right?...ok ok it's me. I'm not a fanatic, I swear! If I didn't see this show, it would be another 4-5 years until the next tour. I flew into NYC all the way from Indiana to see this show. Fun stuff. At this point in the concert, Bono was pulling up 3 gals from the crowd. They used a sign that read "3 Sisters Love U2" to get on stage for the slow dance during with or without you.
Other highlights from the concert included Mary J. Blige coming onstage to sing "One" with the band. That got an amazing NYC crowd reaction.
Another great moment occurred when U2 played "Miss Sarajevo", which was originally performed with Luciano Pavarotti in the mid-90's. The song was originally written for women who held a beauty pageant in war-torn Sarajevo in the early 90's. The beauty contest was an act of defiance and humanity at a time of ethnic cleansing and hatred.
At MSG, Bono just sang the opera section of the song himself and he nailed it. The lyrics go like this:
Dici che il fiume trova la via al mare
E come il fiume giungerai a me
Oltre i confini e le terre assetate
Dici che come fiume
Come fiume l'amore giungera
L'amore e non so piu pregare
E nell'amore non so piu sperare
E quell'amore non so piu aspettare
English translation of the Italian lyrics:
You say that as a river finds its way to the sea
And as the river you'll find your way back to me
Beyond the borders and the thirsty lands
You say that as the river
As the river, you say that love will find a way
But love, I'm not a praying man
And in love I can't believe anymore
And for love I can't wait anymore
