New Artists Don't Measure Up

Yeah, I said it. The 40-50 year-old crowd of musical artists still dominates the industry newbies. I could give a million examples, but here are the ones that prove my point most effectively:

Bruce Springsteen
Madonna

U2

And yes Rockshay - The Rolling Stones (and they are deep into their 60's, further illustrating the point!)

Just listen to a song like "Nothing Man" from Bruce. Or "Jump", "Get Together", and "Sorry" from Madonna. Or any U2 song from the 2000's era. New artists are all playing on a lower level and have a LONG way to catch up.

Yo Aaron, great blog! my first time on it. You know I agree with you that new artists don't measure up, but you forgot 'The greatest rock 'n' Roll band in the world' - The Rolling Stones - 40 years and still rocking. See you in a couple days and don't study too hard.

Rock - duly noted and post amended!

The Stones definitely deserve to be in that conversation. I enjoyed the video I linked to from the Bigger Bang tour. Feel free to post more links to Stones vids you enjoy.
